Sikkens: the right color

Symptoms

Discoloration to grey or black, caused by
poor maintenance of the timber.
Particularly a problem on south facing
surfaces; leads to further breakdown

Cause

  • Protective coat not present
  • Protective coat not sound

Solution

Unsound coatings should be removed.
Remove weathered timber (mechanical
sanding). Restore original colour by using
a wood bleach and apply a new
protective system.
