Sikkens: the right color

Symptoms

Because of irregular absorption of the substrate the coating is absorbed to a different extent, resulting in an irregular sheen level.

Cause

  • Filled areas (particularly if filler is unsuitable)
  • Spots where paint has been completely removed by sanding
  • Porous substrates
  • No primer (or insufficient primer/base stain) applied

Solutions

Sand and re-treat.   Apply adequate coats.
