Sikkens: the right color

The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), recently proclaimed the Inverness Cancer Care Centre the winner of the 2006 Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland.

Glasgow based architects Page & Park specified Cetol Novatech, in colours from the inspirational Natural Balance Collection, to protect and decorate the external wall areas which are clad with Birch faced plywood.

Project architect Andrew Bateman comments "The design of Maggie's Cancer Centre is closely linked with the surrounding landscaping and environment, with colours from the Natural Balance Collection providing a balance between nature and architecture.

Founded in 1996, Maggie' Centres have been pioneered at Hospitals in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, providing an innovative support programme developed over six years by healthcare professionals.  The imaginatively designed centres are supported by some of the world's leading architects to create the optimum environment for support and treatment.
